2013-2014 PETS & SETS Change Makers Walk…. Training is the essence of transformation. We don’t have to be great to start, but we have to start to be great. President Elects Get Together PEG (President Elects Get Together) Thus we started PEG President Elect & Secretary Elect Get together on 14th October 2012 in Theni at Green Royale Hotels & Resorts. This was hosted by Rotary Club of Bodi and we thank the team for giving us this great opportunity to know each other. GPS (Get together of President Elect & Secretary Elect) On 16th December 2012 in Trichy at Kallanai , Rotary Club of Thiruchirappalli Fort hosted the event. PETS & SETS 2013 (President Elect and Secretary Elect Training Seminar)GPS As we stepped forward and trying to climb over the mountain we had our final training session “Yevuthalam” PETS & SETS 2013 on 22nd to 24th March in Pondicherry at Ocean Spray. It was an great experience and learning with 3 days intensive training program conducted by experienced faculties.  This was hosted by Rotary Club of Karur Texcity .


FOCUS PROJECTS OF THE YEAR ADOPTED SCHOOL As part of New Generation our club concentrated in renovation of toilets in schools. This year, we adopted a school in Gandhigramam “Thanthonimalai Union Middle School” for the construction and renovation of toilets which would bring a better sanitation to the school. And also we planned to fulfill all the needs of that school and various camps for that school students. SEXUAL AWARENESS PROGRAM Our club held a sexual awareness program in every month for girl students at various schools. This year we aim to give sexual awareness between maximum girl students. The program raised awareness of the prevalence and consequences of sexual abuse by educating the girls about the steps they can take to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to the reality. ONE DAY RYLA (VETRI NAMMIDAM) As a leadership development program, we angels conducted one day RYLA “Vetri Nammidam” in various schools and colleges at every month. The main aim of this program is to show the students the ethics of the leadership, the importance of communication skill in effective leadership, problem solving and conflict management, also building self confidence and self esteem. THEME OF THE YEAR This year our club’s main motto was “FRIENDSHIP FIRST”. We find it is easy to make more friends by making simple communication with them, which lead to a great network. With this network we can make anything possible, to improve our capacities and to make this world a better living place. Let’s all together involve ourselves in Rotary which is going to be interesting, enjoyable and ofourse a challenging, job in changing lives as we are all “Change Makers”. “ENGAGE ROTARY, CHANGE LIVES”


WEEKLY MEETINGboard-meeting Our club conducted a weekly meeting on every Wednesday at Rotary Texcity Hall at 11.00am to 12.30pm. In weekly meetings, we discussed about the projects, district events, and the club resolutions if any.

Our club participated in District conference “Sadhana” at Kodesia Hall, Coimbatore, on 01.02.2014. On behalf of our club we have registered for 20 persons. Most of our members participated and enjoy with their family in this conference.

Installation Function

Our club’s New President installation function was celebrated at Aarthi Hotel Alagammai Hall on 30.06.2013 evening. Rtn.N.Shanmugavalli was becoming a new President of our club. Rotary District 3240 PDG Rtn.Kalpana Khound and Painthamizh Selvi Mrs.Bharathi Babu were the Chief Guest of this function. Installation day we concentrated on our Five Avenues of services.

Community Service:- Free Mammogram Test to public, Rice and wheat bags to Shanthi Nilayam.

New Generation Service:- Donated Computer to Velu Aided School Young Achievers Awards to Talented Disabled Students wheel chair for the orthopedically challenged child Adopted Gandhigramam “Thanthonimalai Union Middle School” for the construction and renovation of toilets and all the requires of that school.

Vocational Service:- We honored Vocational Service Award to Rtn. Dr.Manonmani and also to Mr.Sethulingam who is serving humanity in his rehabilitation centre for special kids.

International Service:- Our club contributed 100 dollars to Rotary Foundation

Club Service:- Our club released the bulletin “THE VISION” to project the image of rotary. Six new members were jointed with our club on that installation day.

Fellowship Tour

Friendship Day Celebration

we celebrate the friendship day with fdcIndian Medical Association Spouses Team at Indian Medical Association Hall.

Weekly Meeting
Every week at Wednesday, our club arrange a weekly meeting at Rotary texcity Hall at 11.00am to 12.00 noon. At that meeting, we discuss about the monthly projects.


Speaker Meet
Venue: Rtn.Lakshmi’s Home

As to develop the friendship Speaker Meet        between the members, we have arrange a weekly meet every month at any members house. This month as on 21.8.13 PP Rtn.Lakshmi Balaji host a speaker meet at her house. Mrs.Janaki from Chinmaya Mission spoke about the slogam class on that day. Cost of the project: Rs.350/-


GOLU CELEBRATION

Our club celebrated Golu festival at Rtn.S.Meena’s home on 9.10.2013. Most of our club members participate and enjoy this celebration

21.12.213 – Host n Home GOLU CELEBRATION

As on 21.12.13 Rtn. N.Shanmugavalli host a weekly meet at her house. On that day we discussed about the new year celebration. Twelve members were jointed in this meeting.


Rotary Institute – 2013. “Sail to Serve”

Our club members went to Rotary Institute 2013 Rotary Institute – 2013. “Sail to Serve”                          SAIL TO SERVE Singapore Star Cruise with their family.
It gives us all an opportunity to sail with our RI President Ron Burton (2013-2014) and his charming wife Jetta, also with chairman of Rotary Foundation PRIP D.K.Lee and Spouse young Ja. Institute convener Rtn.RID PT.Prabakar. Institute chair Rtn.C.Baskar Institute secretary Rtn.Olivannan also an opportunity to be in touch Olivannan and much more Rotarians who have been introduced to us and it shows the strength of Rotary and its friendship while sailing to serve. We had a very good entertainment programming. We also visited Pukhet and Lankavi Islands. We all had a real enjoyment with Rotarians all over the world.


29, 30, 31.08.2013 – Family TourSINGAPORE TRIP

We continued our trip from
Sail to Serve Star Cruise to Singapore.
There we 7 families went to Universal Studio, Flyer and an open bus ride all over the city and very small shopping.

9, 10, 11.05.13 Family Tour YERCAUD TRIP

As our club theme goes Friendship First, we organized a pre-family trip in Yercaud on May 9th to 11th 2013 at Club Mahindra. We Rotary families enjoyed this trip and it strengthens our family relationship with full bond of love and affection.

1, 2.12.13 – Family Tour POLLACHI TRIP

A family tour was organized by our club to Pollachi on 1st and 2nd December 2013. Seven club members were jointed this tour with their family. Chair person of the program was Rtn. S.Rajathi.


International Joint Meet

We had our joint meet with Rotary Club of Pandan Valley, Pandan Valley Joint MeetSingapore, which is a 30 years old club at Hotel Grand Hyatt. It’s honour to us and to our club to build friendship with Singapore Rotarians. President Rtn.Mohan Rotary Club of Pandan Valley (2013-14) and our club their club events and projects to all other Rotarians and we Rotary club of Karur Angels team gifted them our Karur Home Textile Product as a token of love to them.

7.12.2013 – Joint Meet 

Madurai North Joint MeetA joint meet was held with the Rotary club of Madurai North on 7.12.13 in Rotary Texcity Hall. Twelve members from our club participated in this meeting. Rtn. G.Geetha was the chair person of this program.

Our club’s General body meeting was organized on 18.12.13 at Rotary texcity hall. In this meeting we passed resolution of Governor nominating committee member selection.


CTTS (Club Team Training Seminar)
Venue: Hotel Hemala

As to motivate and to give confidence to our members we organized CTTS Club Team Training SeminarCTTS (Club Team Training Seminar)
for the first time on 22nd June 2013 in Hotel Hemala. Rtn.PDG.Ashoka from Salem and Ann Nalini Olivannan from Chennai were the faculties to train our team. They made us to know the value of Rotary in involving ourselves and how to balance family & Rotary. This was an eye opener to all our members. A collection of brilliant hearts and talents come together and gave us a fruitful experience. Cost of the project: Rs.3500/-
